Secured in the heart of Nairobi, Trattoria restaurant has been a firm future on Nairobi’s dining scene since its foundation in 1981. The restaurant and coffee house downstairs with an outside veranda and bar upstairs overlooking Nairobi is the epitome of unique.
Trattoria was born from a dream of Mr Ruffo. Starting off as a small coffee shop, trattoria slowly grew. Overwhelmed with work, he convinced his mother, Mama Ruffo to come over from Rome to help him in the kitchen whilst he managed the front of the house. Thinking she would come for only a few months, she stayed for 20 years until she finally decided to go back to Italy well into her 80’s to pass her retirement.
Our vast menu offers typical Italian antipasti, homemade fresh pasta, pizza or delicious seafood, chargrill and to end with some homemade gelato or Italian patisseries. We also have a special menu that changes everyday based on what’s fresh at the market.
